The Bar Ownership program is designed for new or prospective bar owners with little to no

conceiving, designing, and opening a new bar. It also covers the process of purchasing an
existing operation. You will have 14 days from the time of your registration to complete the
program at your leisure.

This course will take you through the three primary phases of bar ownership:

(Phase 1) Pre-Contemplation:

restaurant/bar combination, each type of bar comes with its own set of risks and rewards. These
differences are discussed at length in this section as are the start-up details for each type of
operation.
3.Location Data: Where should you open or purchase a bar? What are the benefits and risks of

will learn the answers to these questions and how to assess your own locations.
4.Estimated Start-Up Costs- How much is the average cost to open or purchase a bar? We'll give
you an industry breakdown as to how much money you're looking at to open any category of bar

provide you with sample plans to use as a template.

money will you need to get started? What are your chances at getting a loan? We'll discuss what
types of financing are available, what your qualifications need to be to get them, and how to
negotiate rates and terms for any commercial loan.
3.Licensing- Liquor licenses, food licenses, entertainment licenses, and business organizations
are discussed at great length here as is the process to acquire these licenses and restrictions
they include.
