Basic Bartending
This intensive
five session (20 Hour)
course will focus on
teaching you the basic
mechanics behind the bar,
effective customer service,
and dealing with industry
pressures. You will be
drilled on proper glassware
identification, pouring
techniques, bar tools and
bar equipment. The drink
recipes you will learn and
pour consist of the forty
most common drink recipes
that will constitute ninety
percent of the drinks you
will ever make! Our expert
instructors will teach you
proper ways of:
measuring, pouring, mixing
multiple liquors, blending,
garnishing, and industry
tricks of the trade!
We also provide an
intensive overview of liquor
and liqueur categories as
well as wines, beers,
cordials, cognacs, and
specialty brands. Students
will be exposed to the
pressures of customer
service, even under extreme
conditions, as well as
various bar atmospheres.
Time consolidation methods
and order of drinks are also
part of the curriculum. Upon
completion of this course
students will be ready for
immediate job placement as a
bartender.
Following the completion of
your Basic Bartending
training, you will take the
Illinois Beverage Alcohol
Sellers and Servers
Education and Training (B.A.S.S.E.T.)
Program. This is a separate
certification, but is
included in your tuition
price. Class sizes are
limited to ten students.
